Ahoy Mateys! Our children are having a wonderful summer at nursery and recently enjoyed having the setting transformed into a pirate’s paradise!
Our role-play area had a pirate ship, treasure chest, maps, pirate hats, telescopes and dressing-up clothes, all ready for the children to create their own exciting adventures. Story time sparked lots of wonderful conversations as the children shared their own pirate adventures and imaginative ideas.
A special highlight was our pirate-themed picnic with a watermelon boat, bagel ‘crabs’ and ‘seashell’ pasta salad. The children enjoyed sharing the delicious picnic together while dressed as pirates or in their pyjamas. Then their outdoor play became an exciting pirate expedition as our garden turned into the high seas. The children balanced along “planks,” jumped through imaginary waves in our paddling pool.
We are incredibly proud of how enthusiastically everyone embraced the theme.
